UFC Arbesbach wins 4-0 at SG Karlstein/Thaya – Football Lower Austria – results, tables and goal scorers from all Lower Austria leagues.

The UFC Arbesbach achieved a clear 4-0 win against SG Karlstein/Thaya in the 7th round of the 2nd class Waldviertel Zentral. The Arbesbachers dominated the game over long stretches in front of around 150 spectators and hardly gave the Karlsteiners a chance. Despite some good opportunities from the hosts, UFC Arbesbach always had the upper hand and ultimately won the game clearly.

First half: Arbesbach takes the lead

The party started intensely, with the UFC putting pressure on Arbesbach from the start. Ondrej Brusch almost gave Arbesbach the lead in the 22nd minute, but his shot just missed the target. Just a few minutes later, in the 30th minute, UFC Arbesbach actually took the lead. A free kick from Elias Pfeiffer hit the wall, but Lukas Vacek followed up well and pushed the ball into the far corner to make it 1-0 for the guests.

The Karlsteiners then tried to get back into the game, but they weren’t compelling enough. In the 35th minute, a free kick from Jiri Smrcka ended up in the hands of Mathias Hinterdorfer, the UFC Arbesbach goalkeeper. Shortly before half-time, in the 43rd minute, SG Karlstein/Thaya had another opportunity, but the referee ruled it offside when a shot from number 5 went just wide of the goal. The Arbesbachers went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.

Second half: Arbesbach makes everything clear late

After the break a similar picture emerged. The UFC Arbesbach pushed for the next goal while the Karlsteiner tried to equalize. In the 61st minute, Brusch recorded a good long-range shot from almost 30 meters, but the Karlsteiner goalkeeper cleared it for a corner. Two minutes later, in the 63rd minute, Smrcka was close to equalizing again, but Hinterdorfer made another brilliant save.

In the 78th minute, another good save from the Arbesbach goalkeeper followed, which further frustrated the Karlsteiners. Shortly afterwards, Josef Sindelar increased the score to 2-0 for Arbesbach in the 82nd minute. Sindelar ran towards the goal alone and pushed the ball safely into the box. The Karlsteiners now seemed to have been finally defeated.

But the UFC Arbesbach wasn’t satisfied with that and went up twice more in the final phase. In the 92nd minute, Sindelar passed through to Moritz Pfeiffer, who pushed the ball over the line and increased the score to 3-0. Shortly afterwards, Elias Pfeiffer converted a free kick in the 94th minute and made it 4-0.

SG Karlstein/Thaya had nothing to counter this in the last few minutes, and so the game ended with a clear 4-0 win for UFC Arbesbach. Despite some good chances, the Karlsteiners were unable to compensate for the guests’ strong performance.
