Roche sets itself ambitious goals

By the end of the decade, the pharmaceutical division will be using thirteen “transformative” drugs; development times should fall by 40% and costs by 20%.

Roche presented its new pharmaceutical strategy in detail in London. They have already announced some elements in the past few weeks, such as the fact that they will focus on five therapeutic areas in the future. Diseases of the cardiovascular system, kidneys and metabolism, oncology, neurology as well as immunology and ophthalmology. These are the five areas where the disease burden is increasing the most worldwide and is expected to account for half of the total burden by 2035.
