HUAWEI is currently launching the brand new Watch D2 with strong features. Because the manufacturer not only presents you with the FreeBuds 5i in-ear headphones free of charge in a package, for which you have to budget at least 65 euros elsewhere. You also get the HUAWEI Health+ service free of charge for three months and a warranty extension of 36 months is also included.

Like many other smartwatches, the Huawei Watch D supports heart rate analysis and has an ECG sensor module. In contrast to the competition’s devices, HUAWEI’s smartwatch has a unique selling point: it can also measure blood pressure on the wrist.

This could be particularly interesting for older people who want to keep a rough overview of their blood pressure without having to resort to a larger device.

The German Hypertension League points out in a press release that smartwatches could above all enable permanent monitoring, but they should not be able to replace measurement with an upper arm cuff.

According to Huawei, the Watch D2, which is equipped with a pressure sensor with an error margin of plus or minus three mmHg, can not only measure blood pressure directly, but is also a normal smartwatch. Skin temperature, sleep quality and other measurements should also be able to be measured.
