Pianeta balcony power plant with 830 watt peak

Pianeta sells its balcony power plants exclusively via mail order. The set includes two solar panels from the manufacturer Ja Solar, each offering an output of 415 watt peak. The system thus achieves a total output of 830 watt peak and can generate around 600 to 800 kilowatt hours of electricity per year. The manufacturer offers a 12-year product guarantee and a 25-year performance guarantee.

The set also comes with the rather unknown EWAY MWR-800W inverter, which is already set to the maximum feed-in power of 800 watts. Thanks to the integrated WiFi antenna, you can easily monitor the performance data of your balcony power plant via a smartphone app.

The scope of delivery also includes a three meter long connection cable with a Schuko plug. Prime members benefit from free shipping within two weeks. The price on Amazon is currently 319 euros. There are cheaper alternatives, including from specialist retailers, but if you value the convenience of ordering via the shipping giant, the Pianeta set is a solid choice.

Powerful balcony power plant from a renowned provider

Are you looking for more power? Then the Solakon balcony power plant with 890 watt peak is just the thing. The two bifacial solar modules, each with 445 watt peak, belong to the top class of standard panels. Thanks to bifacial technology, the system can also generate additional energy on the back through reflected sunlight. Although manufacturers often advertise an additional yield of over 30 percent, in our experience an additional 10 percent is realistically possible.

The inverter included in the set is the proven APSystems EZ1-M, which offers an output power of 800 watts. Extension cables for the solar modules and a 5 meter long connection cable are included. You can optionally order brackets for balconies or flat roofs – however, these cost 115 euros, slightly more than from other providers. Thanks to a 50 euro coupon, the balcony power plant is currently available for 369 euros, including a 10 meter long connection cable.

Elegant balcony power plant with storage

The provider ALLDREI may still be relatively unknown on the market, but a look at the brand store on Amazon reveals a solid selection of solar modules and storage sizes. The set with two 480 watt peak solar panels and a 1.6 kilowatt hour storage unit is particularly recommended. The scope of delivery includes the appropriate solar cables and a 5-meter Schuko cable.

A highlight: ALLDREI combines its solar modules with the Anker solar bank E 1600 Pro, which makes a separate inverter unnecessary because it is already integrated into the 1.6 kWh storage unit. As an additional extra, there is the Anker smart meter worth 99 euros. This device is installed by an electrician in the fuse box and transmits the current power consumption so that the storage can automatically adjust its output power.

The set is currently available for 1,199 euros, with the latest shipping for Prime members. Delivery will take place in approximately two weeks.

Matching brackets on Amazon

After you have decided on a balcony power plant, you should look for suitable brackets. Unfortunately, these are rarely included in the sets, and when they are, they are often relatively expensive. Therefore, consider in advance where exactly your balcony power plant will be installed, as the location requires different types of mounts.

Buy balcony power plants on Amazon – What you should pay attention to

Finding the right balcony power plant with 1,000 different products and model variants can quickly become overwhelming. With our checklist you are well equipped to go hunting for bargains in a targeted and prepared manner.

  1. Determine your goals

First, think about what you want to achieve with the balcony power plant. If you want to be as independent as possible from the electricity market, a larger set with 2,000 watt peak power and storage makes sense. If, on the other hand, you mainly want to save electricity and have a quick payback, we recommend a cheaper model with 430 watt peak.

  2. Keep an eye on module performance

The efficiency of solar modules has increased significantly in recent years. The current standard is around 430 watt peak per module. Be careful, however, as some providers try to sell older technology. You should avoid panels with only 400 or 405 watt peak. For a balcony power plant with two modules, the total capacity should be at least 830 watt peak.

  3. The inverter is crucial

According to the solar package resolution, 1 balcony power plants are allowed to feed up to 800 watts into the house network instead of just 600 watts. Therefore, avoid inverters that are limited to 600 watts. A free software update to 800 watts is the minimum; Ideally, you should look for an inverter that is set to 800 watts right from the start.

  4. Power cable included?

Many sets do not include the cable for connecting the inverter to the Schuko socket. Without this cable, the balcony power plant is not ready for operation. Pay attention to which cable model (BC01 for round or BC05 for oval connection) you need. If you are unsure, it is best to choose a set that already includes the cable – then it is guaranteed to fit.

  5. Compare prices for mounts

Some sets already contain brackets, but these are often overpriced – sometimes the frame costs over 100 euros. It may be cheaper to buy the balcony power plant without brackets and order them separately on Amazon. Mounts for two modules usually cost between 30 and 50 euros.

  6. A look at our balcony power plant database

Amazon does not offer the complete selection of balcony power plants. Many retailers sell their sets exclusively through their own online shops. In our database you will find an overview of these providers, filtered by performance, number of modules and price.
