Anker is developing a powerful 140 watt USB-C charger with a display that can symbolize the current charge level with a face. The screen always allows users to see how much power a connected device is currently drawing from the power supply.

The unboxing video from Xiao Li TV embedded below shows a new USB-C charger from Anker, which is the manufacturer’s first power supply to be equipped with a display. The screen can show how much power a connected device contains. This is useful, among other things, for determining whether fast charging of a smartphone such as a Google Pixel 9 or an Apple iPhone 16 (approx. 950 euros on Amazon) is supported via USB-C Power Delivery, or whether a proprietary charger is required.

Using a button below the display, users can switch between several views, which not only allows the total power consumption to be displayed, but also shows the consumption of each individual connection separately. The display also provides information about the current temperature of the charger. If a cable is unplugged or charging is interrupted for other reasons, this is visualized by an emoji so that users notice the error more quickly.

The charger has a total of three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. While two of the USB-C ports can provide the advertised 140 watts of power when only one device is connected, the third port is limited to 40 watts, and a maximum of 33 watts can be output via USB-A. However, the display makes the charger less suitable for traveling because the weight is relatively high at 350 grams. It is currently unknown when or at what price the USB-C charger will hit the market.
