ATP 500 tournament in Basel – Rublew leads the field of participants at Swiss Indoors – Sport

From October 19th to 27th, the Swiss Indoors title will be fought for in the St. Jakobshalle. Although the big name is missing from this year’s field of participants – neither Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic are registered – the level of performance is impressive.

With Andrej Rublew (ATP 6), Hubert Hurkacz (ATP 7) and Casper Ruud (ATP 9), a trio from the top 10 is coming to the Rhine knee. Up-and-coming young players Ben Shelton, Arthur Fils and Jiri Lehecka will also be presenting themselves to the Basel audience. Defending champion is Félix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian even opted for the last two editions of the Swiss Indoors and aimed for a hat trick in 2024.

Wildcards for Stricker and Wawrinka

The local heroes shouldn’t be missing from the home tournament either. Stan Wawrinka will be competing in Basel for the 17th time. The Romand will be given a wildcard by the organizer, just like Dominic Stricker. Other Swiss players will try to secure a ticket for the main draw through qualification.
