Jettainer signed the IATA Digitalization Leadership Charter

Jettainer signed the IATA Digitalization Leadership Charter

Jettainer, the global leader in Unit Load Device (ULD) management, has signed the IATA Digitalization Leadership Charter and is therefore officially part of the Digitalization Leadership Forum. The signing took place as part of the IATA Digital Cargo Conference, which was attended by 165 participants from airlines, system providers, ground handling agents (GHA) and freight forwarders. With this initiative, Jettainer is taking the next step to comprehensively address the requirements and goals of airlines, freight forwarders, GHAs and IT system providers and to develop tailor-made digital solutions for the entire air freight industry.

A key aspect of the charter is the introduction of the ONE Record standard, which enables efficient and transparent data exchange across the entire supply chain. In this context, Jettainer will integrate its ULDs as a “digital twin” in ONE data set. This would be a first Internet of Things implementation under the new ONE Record approach. By combining its own datasets with those of other stakeholders, Jettainer is able to provide highly enriched datasets that provide maximum transparency regarding the location, condition and type of ULDs. This data can be seamlessly linked to waybills via web services from the ONE Record concept. This creates a new basis for understanding industry requirements even better and being able to offer more targeted solutions.

“Our IT solutions are the key to always ensuring the availability of ULDs for our customers while operating as efficiently as possible.” Intelligently collecting and analyzing data is the heart of our work. This, our commitment to ONE Record and our commitment to the IATA Digitalization Leadership Charter show that we are taking a leading role on this topic and accepting our responsibility. By driving these developments forward, together with our partners we want to make our contribution to the digitalization of air freight and turn the great potential of the technology into solutions and added value,” says Dr. Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, CEO of Jettainer.

The Digitalization Leadership Charter, developed by IATA and the Cargo Advisory Council, aims to drive innovation, increase efficiency and promote sustainable and unified digital transformation. By signing, Jettainer commits to implementing the charter’s five guiding principles. These principles include, but are not limited to, implementing industry-wide standards, promoting sustainability, ensuring ethical use of technology, maintaining digital leadership, and improving resilience and protection from cybersecurity risks.
