Investigators collect evidence in deadly school bus fire

On Wednesday, investigative teams along with officials from relevant authorities were seen collecting evidence at the scene of the devastating school bus fire.

Meanwhile, people left offerings of flowers, milk and snacks at the accident site to remember the 20 primary school students and three teachers who died in the tragedy.

Around 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, a bus carrying students and teachers from Wat Khao Phraya Sangkaram School in Uthai-Thailand caught fire after one of its front tires burst. The accident occurred on Vibhavadi Road in Pathum Thani.

At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, both the burned bus and a Mercedes sedan that had been hit were removed from the site for further inspection.

Initial investigations revealed that the bus was equipped with multiple CNG gas tanks and was illegally converted. The bus is also being investigated by officials from the Department of Energy, the Department of Surface Transportation and several other agencies.

An emergency operations center has now been set up at the ill-fated school.
