Iga Swiatek unexpectedly separates from her coach

The world number one and her successful coach are going their separate ways. The 23-year-old finds great words to say goodbye.

Tennis world number one Iga Swiatek has surprisingly separated from her coach. The 23-year-old Pole announced this on Instagram on Friday. “After three years of the greatest successes in my career, coach Tomasz Wiktorowski and I have decided to end our collaboration,” the post said.

Swiatek, who wants to present a new coach in the coming weeks, thanked Wiktorowski for the cooperation, who joined her team at a time “when I needed change and a new approach to my game,” Swiatek continued.

The clay court specialist has triumphed four times at the French Open since 2020, and she also won the US Open in 2022. Swiatek: “Our main goal was to become number one in the world and Coach Wiktorowski was the first to say it.”
