KB5044386 Windows 11 23H2 [Manueller Download] 22635.4300

A new beta will be distributed by Microsoft this weekend. Today it is KB 5044386 and the increased version number to 22635.4300. A change is made in the start menu. All apps are now simply called all, as we know it from Windows 11 24H2.

In the security area, Windows search leads “IFilters in the Less Privileged App Containers (LPAC).” LPAC are like app containers, but have even more permissions by default. The intent is that a process running in an LPAC only has access to the resources it needs. This model helps minimize the potential damage that can be caused by a compromised process by limiting its access to sensitive system components and data.”

Known issues due to KB5044386

  • Start menu After installing this build, there may be an unexpectedly large gap between items in the Start Menu’s All Apps list.
  • Live subtitles After installing this build, the Live Captions feature crashes when you try to use it.

Corrections and improvements through KB5044386

  • Fixed an explorer.exe crash that Insiders experienced while using the PC in recent beta builds.
  • File Explorer Fixed an issue that caused the navigation pane items to be very far apart for some users (with unexpected padding between each item).
  • As previously reported, Microsoft is now introducing the countdown and timer widget for the Start menu.
