Swiatek ended his collaboration with Wiktorowski

World number one Iga Swiatek is looking for a new coach. The Pole ended her collaboration with her compatriot Tomasz Wiktorowski. “After three years of the greatest successes in my career, we have decided to end our journey together,” Swiatek wrote in a post Instagram. She won four of her previous five tournament victories at Grand Slam events with Wiktorowski on her side. Swiatek said that “discussions are currently underway with foreign coaches”. She will not be taking part in the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, which begins next week, at short notice.

Nation tournaments will be harmonized

The format of the Billie Jean King Cup will be that of the Davis Cup. From 2025, as with the Davis Cup, only eight nations instead of twelve will compete in the final tournament of the women’s national tournament. This is announced by the world tennis association ITF. The BJKC qualifying phase will be held next April in seven groups of three. Home and away games should return in qualifying from 2026.
