Lucas Pouille could soon have an (almost) double-digit ranking again

Some wishes come true, others don’t. Lucas Pouille’s big dream of taking part in the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 had to be abandoned early in the season. But the constant approach to the old glory – that works quite well for the now 30-year-old Frenchman. The bar is of course high: Pouille already made it into the top ten in March 2018.

He’s still a long way from that. But: The top 100 are within reach. And already very bare. If Pouille were to win the final of the ATP Challenger tournament in Mouilleron le Captif today, he would overtake compatriot Harold Mayot, current number 100, in the live ranking. By the way, he beat him pretty easily in the semifinals of the tournament in question. Now Lucas Pouille just has to beat the number one of the event in Mouilleron le Captife: Quentin Halys.

Pouille showed two weeks ago in Saint-Tropez that the form is right again. However, he had to admit defeat to Gijs Brouwers in the final. In total, Lucas Pouille has won five tournaments on the ATP tour. The biggest title came in 2017 at the Erste Bank Open in the Wiener Stadthalle.
