Despite the defeat in the Champions League, the mood at FC Bayern remains positive. However, the upcoming duel with Eintracht Frankfurt could be decisive.

Munich – After FC Bayern Munich’s 0-1 defeat against Aston Villa, the atmosphere on Säbener Straße was by no means depressed, despite slipping from first place to 15th place in the Champions League table. Even though the English week didn’t go well with a draw against Bayer Leverkusen (1-1), the mood was not one of concern.

The question that arises: Is the game against Eintracht Frankfurt viewed by FC Bayern as a top game?

Despite the fact that Eintracht Frankfurt is currently in second place, league leaders FC Bayern (13 points) appear to be taking the challenge seriously. President Herbert Hainer was confident and told Sky: “It was unnecessary to lose against Villa, but that happens.” We have to win on Sunday in Frankfurt, then the world will look completely different again. Now we are happy about our basketball players’ victory against Real Madrid.” A top game in Hesse? This cannot be said clearly.

Hainer instead focused on the new coach and praised: “Vincent Kompany is doing a great job, you can see that on the field.” We run a lot, work hard, are much quicker on the ball, try to push higher. It’s a lot of fun to watch the team.” But will this strategy be successful in the long term? The FC Bayern team could fall into a trap, especially against Eintracht.

Eintracht has the potential to harm Munich

The Frankfurters have established themselves as a team with a safe combination and a clear structure in their game build-up. With players like Omar Marmoush, Hugo Ekitiké, Ansgar Knauff, Junior Dina Ebimbe and Hugo Larsson, who have enormous speed, they can be dangerous in transition play. Will Kompany consistently maintain his style? Or will he make adjustments to the way he plays and position his team a little more defensively? It would be a disaster for the people of Munich if Joshua Kimmich had to state again: “95 or 96 percent is just not enough.”
