Autumn holidays are starting soon! The booking situation in the north

The autumn holidays will soon begin in Schleswig-Holstein. For many, this is another reason for a holiday trip. You can also spontaneously find accommodation in the north.

If you decide to go on holiday in Schleswig-Holstein in the coming weeks, you still have a good chance of finding accommodation. “The booking situation in Schleswig-Holstein for the autumn holidays is currently still subdued, with a few exceptions,” said the managing director of the Schleswig-Holstein Tourism Agency (TASH), Bettina Bunge.

Many short-term bookings in the low season

People are still waiting. “However, experience shows that bookings increase as the holiday season approaches,” said Bunge. “In general, we have been noticing a trend towards increasingly short-term bookings, especially in the off-season, for several years now.”

In the North Sea destinations, TASH booking numbers are currently (as of September 27th) at the same level as last year or slightly behind them. The North Sea spa town of Büsum is an exception here, as there is a high level of occupancy there. At Christmas and the New Year, however, there is already a good booking situation in many North Sea destinations.

Holiday apartments on the Baltic Sea still available

The interior of the Duchy of Lauenburg is reporting very good capacity utilization for the fall, as TASH further announced. Other travel destinations therefore still have a lot of free accommodation available. There are still free capacities in all categories for the Christmas holidays and the New Year.

The Baltic Sea also reports to the tourism agency about different numbers in the holiday resorts. Flensburg reports figures that are roughly at the same level as the previous year, Travemünde is very well booked, especially during the “Moments of Happiness” campaign. Nevertheless, holiday apartments are said to still be available in the fall. At the turn of the year, the accommodations in Travemünde are already mostly occupied. (dpa/mp)
