The sixth game in the third set proved to be the deciding factor: Sinner was already in the lead with a break – and Etcheverry failed to restore the tie despite several chances.

Medvedev first winner on Sunday

Daniil Medvedev, who won against Matteo Arnaldi 5:7, 6:4 and 6:4, is also already in the round of 16. All other matches could not be played on Sunday either – because Sinner and Medvedev were allowed to play under a closed roof.
