Die in a few days Amazon Prime Deal Dayswhere sales records could be set again this year. Due to very high discounts, a lot of smart Amazon devices are likely to be sold over the counter, and they are more popular than almost any other product these days. To prepare and perhaps help you make a purchase decision, we will show you again how Google products can be used on Amazon devices.

The smart Amazon products have been very popular for years because in most cases they are not only comparatively cheap, but are also heavily advertised. The fact that Amazon is the world’s largest retailer, which can showcase its products accordingly and sometimes sell them at dumping prices, further supports this. And so there are hundreds of millions of Echo smart speakers, Fire tablets and Fire TV devices in the living rooms around the world.

Unfortunately, no Google services are preinstalled on all of these devices, which Amazon of course does not make clear. Although the Fire tablets are based on Android, they are not licensed by Google and therefore do not have a Play Store on board. The Fire TV stick is also based on Android, but it also doesn’t have a Play Store and doesn’t offer any other official option for sideloading apps. But for that you can install an alternative launcher.

But the Echo Smart Speakers are also “only” equipped with Alexa, which is very flexible and offers many functions, but doesn’t necessarily have the best reputation overall. If you want, you can also use the Google Assistant, which answers instead of Alexa. Below you will find the short instructions including links to the detailed descriptions.

Use Google Assistant on Echo Smart Speaker

Only Alexa is available by default on the Echo smart speakers, but with a few minutes of patience and some tinkering it is possible to use the Google Assistant. This is set up as an Alexa skill and can then be addressed directly and all inquiries answered. To make this possible, you need an Amazon developer account, you have to set up a script and also address the Google Assistant via an interface.

It may be a bit of effort that not every user wants to take on, but once you go through the steps, you can benefit from it in the long term. At the following link you can find out how the installation is carried out and also see the whole thing as a video instruction.

Install Google Play Store on Fire Tablets

Amazon Fire Tablets

The Fire tablets are based on an older version of Android and only offer the Amazon App Store for installing new apps. Of course, sideloading is also possible, but the large app world of the Google Play Store is still preferable for many users. The numerous Google apps can only be obtained with the Play Services framework, which is installed in the same step. This used to require many steps and several separate downloads, but today there is a practical toolbox that makes everything possible with just a few clicks or steps.

Install Android apps on Fire TV

Things are getting exciting again in the streaming stick market, because with the current Google TV updates the company is now attacking the Amazon Fire TV Stick more strongly. This is actually still most open to Google products, but doesn’t typically offer flexibility for additional apps outside of the Amazon universe. With the free app Apps2Fire It is now very easy to transfer APK files to the stick and install them.

Of course, this doesn’t work with all apps, because we’re still talking about a “weak” TV stick and a limited user environment, but the flexibility is still much greater than in the standard version. You might also want to check out the alternative Wolf Launcher.
