F1 Rankings 2024: Updated driver and constructor points, results and schedule for every Formula 1 race

F1 Rankings 2024: Updated driver and constructor points, results and schedule for every Formula 1 race

After an absolutely dominant season last year, Max Verstappen picked up where he left off and took victory in Bahrain to boost the 2024 Formula 1 season.

In Jeddah, Verstappen then qualified on pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and largely dominated from start to finish, although Lando Norris was briefly first behind a safety car. Sergio Perez secured second place after an early battle with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

However, there was a shock in Melbourne when Verstappen and Hamilton retired early. Sainz won and secured a Ferrari one-two alongside Charles Leclerc. Norris completed the podium.

However, Verstappen returned to the top of the podium in Japan, winning from pole position for the 30th time in his career, before taking back-to-back wins in China.

Looking for a third straight win of the season, Verstappen was unable to continue his dominance as he was beaten by Norris in Miami as the McLaren driver won his first Formula 1 race of his career. Then, in Monaco, Charles Leclerc was finally able to secure victory at his home Grand Prix and close the gap at the top of the Drivers’ Championship.

Verstappen returned to winning ways in Canada, while there were also positive signs for Mercedes in that race as they took their first podium of the year.

The Dutchman appeared to be on his way to another win, but a late collision with Norris led to George Russell winning his first race of the season and the second of his F1 career.

Lewis Hamilton then won the Silverstone Grand Prix by outpacing Verstappen and Norris in the varied conditions to take his first victory since the penultimate race of the 2021 season.

Oscar Piastri became the latest F1 race winner, securing his first victory in Hungary, finishing ahead of his teammate in controversial circumstances.

Hamilton scored his second win of the season after his teammate Russell was disqualified in Belgium.

After the summer break, it was Norris who set an example and beat Verstappen by a clear margin at the Dutch Grand Prix. Leclerc then won at Monza in front of some enthusiastic Ferrari fans.

Piastri then took his second race win of the season in Azerbaijan.

McLaren’s success continued in Singapore as Norris recorded a statement victory over Verstappen.
