The love for football and the NFL is growing in this country. RTL is taking advantage of this and sticking to its TV concept. A show has to be soft.

Dortmund – chess with huge guys – that’s how US football is often described. In fact, the hype has been spreading more and more to Germany for decades. RTL, which is starting its own mountain series with a German superstar, has recognized the trend and is responsible for broadcasting the NFL games.

RTL removes show from TV program for weeks – because of football

The NFL is currently in the regular season. For football fans, there is nothing more important than watching the American league games and the development of your favorite teams. RTL is changing its program for this. The “Exclusive Weekend” TV format suffers here.

The tabloid show, in which so-called celebrity news is announced, has been moderated by Frauke Ludowig since 1994. The 60-year-olds will now lose their traditional slot on Sundays at 5:45 p.m. – at least for the time being. RTL will broadcast NFL games until November 17th (read more TV news at RUHR24).

“Exclusiv Weekend” moves to RTL+ – RTL shows the NFL’s Munich Game

From October 6th, “Exclusiv Weekend” will be broadcast on the RTL streaming platform RTL+. Anyone interested has the opportunity to follow the broadcast free of charge here. RTL will broadcast the NFL games, the London Games and the NFL Munich Game on television until November 10th.

On November 3rd, RTL will forego the NFL and broadcast the program “Bauer sucht Frau International”. After the NFL Munich Game on November 10th, “Exclusiv Weekend” returns to its regular spot on Sunday, 5:45 p.m. on November 17th. Like the portal dwdl.de reports, the tabloid magazine recently reached one and a half million viewers on TV.

It is questionable whether “Exclusive Weekend” will inspire a similar number of people on RTL+. According to the AGF (Video Research Working Group), the RTL streaming service recently reached 800,000 people with the show “You won’t win a million here with Stefan Raab”.
