One of the best Italian tennis players and her challenges

Camila Giorgi was born in Macerata in 1991. The father and mother, Claudia Fullone, are Argentinian. The mother is a fashion designer while the father has coached her throughout her career. She is considered one of the best Italian tennis players of all time. They have won four hard-court WTA Tour tournaments, including the prestigious Canadian Open 2021 in Montreal. They reached 26th place in the world rankings in October 2018 and June 2022. She is the Italian tennis player with the best winning percentage against top 10 and top 20 players and the most successful Italian player on grass.

The family

Camila has two brothers: Leandro and Amadeus. Sister Antonela died in a car accident in 2011. At the age of five she began to devote herself exclusively to tennis and became one of the best Italian tennis players of all time. She had a long-term relationship with colleague Giacomo Miccini, with whom she was due to marry in 2017, but the relationship ended.

During a Q&A session on Instagram, a follower asked Camila if she had a boyfriend. The answer was “yes,” accompanied by a photo showing her next to a young man. It is believed that her new partner could be American.

The resignation

Her retirement from tennis became known when the financial police tried to serve her a document, a notice of the completion of the investigation by the Prato public prosecutor’s office into allegations of failure to declare income in 2016 and tax evasion. She was acquitted by the court in Prato in December of failing to file tax returns for 2013 and 2014, “because the act does not constitute a criminal offense.” She was accused of evading Irpef of 336,000 euros in 2013 and 410,000 euros in 2014.

The investigations
