One goal has been achieved, the other has come a little closer: darts professional Patrick Klingelhöfer from Tann-Neuswarts has qualified for the Super League – and is now dreaming of the legendary “Ally Pally”.

Neuswarts – It is the place of longing for all darts professionals – and also all darts fans: the Alexandra Palace in London, which everyone just calls “Ally Pally”. When the best arrow throwers of the world champions are determined every year in December and January, top sporting achievements and a gigantic party mix to create a unique atmosphere. Patrick “The Fire” Klingelhöfer also dreams of being part of “Ally Pally”. The 37-year-old from Tann-Neuswarts has been putting everything on one card for some time now and has been touring from tournament to tournament as a darts professional.

Now the Rhön native has taken the next big step because Klingelhöfer has qualified for the Super League. “That was my first big dream,” says Klingelhöfer. In Eisenstadt, Austria, at a so-called “Next Gen” tournament, Klingelhöfer got his ticket to the Super League – and with a perfect landing: “I had to come tenth and I came tenth.” The reward: Klingelhöfer is now entering one of the biggest darts -Stages. The “PDC Europe Super League” will take place in Hildesheim from November 5th to 8th.

30 of the best darts players from German-speaking countries are competing for a starting place for the 2025 World Cup. The list of participants is prominent: including the eight-time World Cup participant Max Hopp, the Challenge Tour champion Steven Noster and last year’s winner of the Super League, Dragutin Horvat.

However, the path to the “Ally Pally” is a rocky one, because only the winner is allowed to go to London. “I’m expecting something.” “At this level, it’s the little things and your form on the day that decide,” says Klingelhöfer, who throws his arrows for Karlsruher SC in the Bundesliga, confidently.

If things don’t work out in Hildesheim, Klingelhöfer will have another chance at a tournament. “There are 1,000 players playing there,” says Klingelhöfer, knowing how difficult it is to move into the “Ally Pally”.
