What happened to Zlatko and Co?

What happened to Zlatko and Co?

On October 7th, the Fremdscham television series goes into the next round: That’s when the new season of “Celebrity Big Brother” starts on Sat.1 and Joyn.

Among other things, it also includes Alida Kurras. The 47-year-old emerged as the winner of the second season of “Big Brother” in 2000, which was a ratings hit at the time. Kurras was then able to make a name for herself as a presenter (including ProSieben, 9Live). “I think people will be happy to see me again!” she says about her return to the TV container.

We took Kurras’ “Big Brother” comeback as an opportunity to find other formerly famous “Big Brother” candidates and ask ourselves: What happened? Zlatko, Jürgen and co?

Zlatko Trpkovski: Season 1

Zlatko Trpkovski was together with Jürgen Milskiwith whom he quickly became friends on the show, the absolute favorite of the first “Big Brother” season, with which RTL 2 revolutionized German television in 2000 and introduced the “Reality TV” format in German-speaking countries. However, after 41 days he was voted out by the candidates.

“Zladdi” was particularly known for his open, friendly art, his good looks and his limited general knowledge (“Shakespeare? Sure, I know that! But I don’t know what kind of films he has.”). The trained car mechanic with North Macedonian descent began a career as a singer after the TV show: his single “I miss you” was a number 1 hit and was awarded gold three times. His duet with Jürgen entitled “Big Brother” was also a huge success. His album peaked at number 7.

...and today

His documentary soap “Zlatko’s World”, his attempts as an actor and his participation in the ESC preliminary round were less successful. The follow-up singles also received little attention. Zlatko returned to his job as a car mechanic.

His last media appearance was on “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2019 (with a bald head, tattoos and a gray beard), where he was already voted out as the second candidate due to verbal attacks. According to Zlatko in “Celebrity Big Brother”, his friendship with Jürgen was just a show on Milski’s part. Critics and viewers described Zlatko as “bitter” and said he had little in common with the candidates from the first season. Zlatko Trpkovski has not been heard from since then.

Jürgen Milski

Jürgen Milski: Season 1

Conquered alongside Zlatko Jürgen Milski (60) won the hearts of fans in the first “Big Brother” season. The audience particularly appreciated his authentic art and his “Cologne snout”. In the end, Milski ended up in second place.

Milski was able to use the hype to his advantage: “Big Brother”, the duet with Zlatko, reached the top of the charts and was certified platinum. However, his album only reached number 60. He was and is a guest on many TV shows (such as “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!”, “Let’s Dance”), and sometimes he also worked as a presenter. In 2023 he was a candidate for “Celebrity Big Brother”. As a Ballermann singer, he performed more than 100 performances a year.

In 2015 and 2021 he was criticized for xenophobic statements. With girlfriend Marion The Cologne native has been married for around 40 years and they have a daughter together. About ex-mate Zlatko he said: “Zlatko became [aufgrund des Ruhms] Suddenly a completely different person.

Andrea Singh: Season 1

Andrea Singh surprisingly took third place in the first season. However, her singing career flopped brutally, and her TV appearances (in the “Harald Schmidt Show”, “The Dummest Men in the World”) also received little response. But this didn’t bother Singh: she found it difficult to deal with her fame.

With her partner she moved her home to Portugal and opened a surfing school there – apparently always a dream of hers. Apparently – and loudly Xing-Profile of her name – she has worked as an editor for various German entertainment companies in recent years.

Sabrina Lange: Season 1

The former roofer Sabrina Long moved into the TV container as a replacement in the first season and ended up fourth. Like many of the other participants, they also threw a quickly produced single onto the market, but it flopped. She also tried her hand at acting, but also without much success. “Big Brother” friend Jürgen Milski helps her build a career as a Ballermann singer. By 2019 they had released a total of ten songs.

In 2013, Lange appeared in the ProSieben show “Reality Queens on Safari”, but was voted out in episode 1. In 2019, she made a guest appearance on the reality show “The Summer House of the Stars” together with her long-term partner Thomas Count of Luxburg. There the couple achieved third place. Today Lange works as an event presenter and sports photographer.

Her high debts (at times 180,000 euros) and her court dispute with the former “Germany’s Next Top Model” candidate caused negative headlines Gisele Oppmannwhich was about a female dog.

John Milz: Season 1

Thanks to his calm and sensitive nature, the then 26-year-old was able to John Spleen exited the first season of “Big Brother” as the winner (with an audience rating of 50.4 percent). The trained carpenter, who comes from the squatter scene, was not granted any success after that: after two (not very successful) singles (including a duet with Andrea Singh), a guest role in the daily soap “Unter Uns”, and DJ appearances and a job as a radio presenter, he quickly retreated into private life. He has reportedly been married since 2008.

Milz is also not active on social networks. Nobody knows today what became of the “first hero of German reality TV” (original sound ProSieben).

Alex Jolig: Season 1

With 37 years of war Alex Jolig the oldest participant in the first “Big Brother” season and kicked Zlatko out of the container. Memorable: His sex under the blanket with another participant – it was the first live sex on German television.

After the TV show, the ex-restaurateur was able to produce a successful single (“I just want you”), which reached number 3 in Germany and number 1 (!) in Iran. The song also entered the charts in Russia and Japan. But it remained just this single hit song.

He tried his hand as an actor and presenter, but he received media attention mainly because of his short affair Jenny Elvers, with whom he also has a son.

Today Jolig lives with his second wife Britt in Mallorca. The two of them run a luxury real estate agency there together. In between, he appears in reality shows (such as “Prominent Separate”, “Goodbye Germany!”). Jolig, who is also a big motorcycle fan, also produces oil and acrylic paintings, including his own gallery in Palma de Mallorca.

Walter Unterweger: Season 2

The then 23-year-old medical student Walter Unterweger The heartthrob from Styria was in the second “Big Brother” season, but in the end he was still only eighth. His first single “I’m not leaving without you” reached number 3 in the German charts, after which he starred in the German daily soap “Marienhof” for three years. There he met the actress Henriette Richter-Röhl met, with whom he is still married today and has two daughters.

After leaving “Marienhof” he largely withdrew from the public. He finished his medical studies and now works as a doctor in Berlin (where he also lives). He is also an author and publisher (hidden books, vegan cookbooks).

Harry Schmidt: Season 2

Harry Schmidt left the TV container as runner-up in the second season of “Big Brother”. He previously worked as a car mechanic and has been successful in the entertainment business since the reality show. He began his career as a singer, then played the role of pub landlord Big Harry in the ARD series “Großstadtrevier” for 15 years.

He then opened a pub himself, but sold it after two years. Schmidt is married and has six children. His stage name was “Big Harry”, based on his role in the soap.

Hanka Rackwitz

Hanka Rackwitz: Season 2

Hanka Rackwitz took part in the second season of “Big Brother” (then 31 years old), but was voted out after 56 days. She still managed to have a TV career: Today she is best known for her role in the VOX pseudo-documentary “rent, buy, live”. In 2017 she also moved to the jungle camp for RTL and took second place. In 2024 she was part of the show “ I am a star – showdown of the jungle legends”.

In 2016, Rackwitz published “I’m not ticking right,” a book about her anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Otherwise, the current 55-year-old now lives primarily away from the spotlight.

Christian Möllmann: Season 2

Christian Möllmann made a name for himself as the controversial “nominator” in season 2. His self-dramatization and provocative behavior caused a lot of controversy, and after a month he left the show voluntarily. His debut single “It’s awesome to be an asshole” was a number 1 hit for several weeks and achieved platinum status. The following album “Nominator” rose to number 3 in the charts.

He then worked as a presenter, for example on the fifth season of “Big Brother”. In seasons 6 and 9 he took on the role of guest star and commentator respectively. In 2016, Möllmann tried to get started again as a singer without success. Since then nothing has been heard from the once feared “nominator”.

To the start of "Celebrity Big Brother": What happened to Zlatko and Co?

Squad Loth: Season 5

Only bring a few more Squad Loth In connection with “Big Brother”, but the “trash TV queen” started her career in season 5. There she had her big breakthrough, but before that she was already successful as penthouse-Active model and also made several TV appearances.

After “Big Brother”, Loth was seen in numerous reality shows, including “Frauentausch”, “Die Alm”, “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” and in “The Summer House of the Stars – Battle of the Celebrity Couples” (together with her husband Ismet Atlia Berlin entrepreneur).
