Burgenlandliga – Important victory: Jennersdorf shoots Schattendorf off the pitch

Jennersdorf – Schattendorf 4:1. After the 2-2 draw in Pama, the UFC wanted to get a win at home. The opponent traveled from northern Burgenland: SV Schattendorf played in Jennersdorf. And the Mikovits squad made it clear from the start in which direction the party should go. Jennersdorf let the ball and opponents run right from the start. The logical conclusion was Jaka Vajda’s opening goal. The Slovenian made it 1-0 after 20 minutes. However, Jennersdorf was careless defensively and so the guests equalized through Raphael Federer (29th) – at the same time the score at halftime.

“Actually, we should have been leading 2-0 at halftime,” said Jennersdorfer sporting director Martin Sitzwohl, referring to the game. But his boys made up for what they missed after the break. Julian Resch in particular was now the difference player. After 57 minutes, Resch took the lead again and in the 74th minute he made the decision with a free kick – 3-1. Michael Wagner then finally put the lid on it. The captain himself scored Jennersdorf’s fourth goal of the day (81st). For Sitzwohl it was a well-deserved victory: “We implemented what we set out to do for a long time.” The sporting director had special praise for the midfield trio Resch, Kögl and Halb: “They did a very good job .” .” And coach Patrick Mikovits was also satisfied after the performance. He said: “We deserved to win even higher.”

Schattendorfs coach Robert Serdar: “The bottom line is that it was a deserved win for Jennersdorf, even if it was a bit too high.” Jennersdorf (12 points) is in 9th place in the league – Schattendorf (6) remains in the relegation battle, place 14 and the air is getting thin for Robert Serdar in the coaching bench.
