Ole Miss adds Pac-12 team to 2025 schedule

Ole Miss adds Pac-12 team to 2025 schedule

Ole Miss has filled a vacancy on its 2025 schedule.

The program announced Monday that Washington State will be coming to Oxford next fall.

The Rebels had scheduled a home game with Wake Forest in 2024 and 2025. After Ole Miss played the game last month in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Lane Kiffin announced that Wake Forest had decided to buy out the second game, scheduled for Sept. 13, 2025, in Oxford.

Kiffin expressed frustration that Wake Forest pulled out of the agreement.

“This is rarely done,” Kiffin said in September. “I’ve never really heard of it and it really puts us at a huge disadvantage. It is what it is. It was obviously not very appreciated that they put us in this situation.”

“Now we have to find someone and most people are all scheduled. And even if you find someone, you have to pay them. Actually, it’s kind of an unwritten rule not to do that.”

Washington State’s announcement states that the game will be played on October 11, 2025.

“The opportunity to compete against the University of Mississippi, with its rich football history, will certainly bring joy to our student-athletes, coaches and fans,” WSU athletics director Anne McCoy said in a news release.
