The release of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred is imminent, and the world of Sanctuary will once again be shrouded in darkness. With this major expansion, Blizzard ushers in a new era of darkness that offers fresh content and challenges.

Today, October 8th, it is finally so whitet – Vessel of Hatred is officially launching, and of course we will be there live to accompany you every second of this hotly anticipated release.

From server status to technical hurdles to the community’s initial reactions – we have all the important information for you in view. Get excited, grab your gear and get ready for the battlefield that awaits you in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred.

Is your download running slowly? Then the following trick has proven itself in the past.

Click on the download speed in the Blizzard launcher to open the download options. Here you now set a high limit for the download speed, as shown in the following screenshot:

Patch 2.0.2 download is finally here! As you fear, you now have to complete another larger download: 24GB and 37GB respectively (for high-resolution textures) are preceded.

The servers are currently not online.

There’s no download yet, but they are now too Battle.net forums heavily overloaded and partially down.

According to Blizzard, the update process will be completed soon and it quickly sounds like it could start at any minute. But then you will probably have to download patch 2.0.2 again, which weighs between 24 and 40 GB. The download server could then become the next bottleneck.

The new update is quickly uploaded to our server. We will give the green light as soon as the update is ready and available for download for PC Bnet users.

During this time we will do some last minute quality assurance checks before we get things going.

We’re back! If everything goes according to plan, it will start in just a few minutes. However, nothing has happened in the past half hour or so. No further updates from Blizzard, no new patch to download.

3:37 a.m

Finally there is a big new release date for Vessel of Hatred! According to Blizzard, it will take another two hours before you can get started.

The new release time would be 5:30 a.m. – if everything goes smoothly this time.

You also have to download a larger patch again, as community manager Adam Fletcher announces:

Latest update – it looks like there will be about another two hours until we start Vessel of Hatred. Additionally, Battle.net players will need an additional major update before they can play. We will let you know as soon as this update is available. We apologize for the delay and look forward to seeing you in Nahantu soon.

We’ve been waiting in vain for two hours for a new report from Blizzard.

At least something has changed in the launcherbecause the indication that the preliminary content has been downloaded has disappeared. Maybe something is happening slowly.

If you were hoping for an update on the hour – unfortunately that wasn’t there! Blizzard still owes you new information about the current status, we are keeping an eye on all important channels.

It’s been exactly an hour since Blizzard contacted us – there is still radio silence. The addon already has a nickname in the community Vessel from Waitred negotiated.

The release of Vessel of Hatred has been waiting for over an hourIt’s been over 40 minutes since the last update from Blizzard. We’ll keep our eyes open and as soon as there’s something new, you’ll find out here.

The preload for patch 2.0.2 is now also available on Steam, as Blizzard announced.

There will soon be a new time for the start of Vessel of Hatred and Season 6:

Steam players can download patch 2.0.2 now.
Regardless, players should see a login/license error when logging in. This is to be expected.
We will provide an update on some timings soon.

Vessel of Hatred has now been waiting for half an hour. But what actually happens when the servers go live? Then the preload files will be installed first and your game will be updated to version 2.0.2.

When you are ready and have successfully completed the preload, your Battle.net launcher should look like this:

It appears that the unpatched servers have only now been taken offline and the update process has begun. It will probably be a while before you can play Vessel of Hatred.

As announced, the servers will not be available for the planned release at 1 a.m. After a short queue you will be greeted with a license error (code 315306):




12:49 a.m

Shortly before the planned start there is even more bad news: Three unique items will be missing when the addon startsincluding:

  • The one-handed sword Bluefury
  • The gloves Frostburn
  • The armor Veil of false death

In addition, the Aspect of the agile wolf initially not be available to the Druid. According to Adam Fletcher, the items mentioned will come back into the game in a revised version in a later patch.

12:30 a.m

We actually wanted to start our live ticker for the release of the hotly anticipated Diablo DLC in the early hours of the morning, but there is urgent news:

The release of Vessel of Hatred is postponed!

Technical difficulties are to blame, as community manager Adam Fletcher announced in the Blizzard forum:

Due to a minor technical issue on our end, there will be a small delay in launch. We still expect Vessel of Hatred to launch tonight, but we will need a little more time to ensure that all players on all platforms launch at the exact same time.

The release of Vessel of Hatred was originally planned for 1:00 a.m. German time. We’ll keep an eye on the situation for you and you’ll find out here as soon as the servers are live.
