Apollo Quiboloy files COC for Senator

MANILA, Philippines – Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, who faces criminal rape charges, has filed a certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator in the 2025 elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Tuesday.

According to Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco, Quiboloy’s legal counsel Mark Tolentino has filed his COC.

“He filed the lawsuit through an authorized agent, so his COC was accepted because an authorized agent filed the lawsuit,” Laudiangco said in a chance interview in Filipino.

Quiboloy is currently facing child abuse and human trafficking cases in the Davao City and Pasig City Courts.

He also faces multiple criminal charges in the United States, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; child sex trafficking; sex trafficking involving force, fraud and coercion; Conspiracy; and mass cash smuggling.
