Today’s West Pullman, Chicago shooting: Boy, 7, critically injured in 2 gunshots in 11600 block of South Yale Avenue, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) – A child and a man were shot and critically injured at a South Side home Monday evening, Chicago police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred in the 11600 block of South Yale Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood shortly after 9 p.m

A 7-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were inside a home when someone in a white Audi sedan fired shots from the street, police said.

The child, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back and an abrasion to the head, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The man was shot in the chest and arm and taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition.

There is no one in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating. Police did not initially provide any further information about the shooting.
