Two people have been charged in Monday night’s shooting in Greenville that left one person injured

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Greenville Police are sharing new details about a shooting that left one person injured Monday evening.

According to police, officers were called to the H&K Mart II Beauty Store at 1000 West 5th Street around 9:30 p.m.

Officers said they found 32-year-old Kentraye Barnes suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm.

A preliminary investigation and review of nearby cameras revealed that the shooting followed a physical altercation between Barnes and his girlfriend, Martevia Green, in the business’s parking lot.

Police believe Barnes started the fight. He faces a felony count of domestic violence.

According to police, Green, 32, faces one count of negligent assault with a deadly weapon and one count of criminal discharge from a motor vehicle to cause fear.

Green is being held in the Pitt County Jail on an unsecured bond.

Investigators say they will consult with the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether additional charges are appropriate.
