Danfoss Fire Safety will be integrated into the Buildings division, part of Smart Infrastructure, and will primarily provide extinguishing systems such as high-pressure water mist. The highly sought-after fire extinguishing technology is free of harmful substances and enables Siemens to offer customers worldwide an environmentally friendly solution.

“With the acquisition of Danfoss Fire Safety, Siemens is ideally positioned to serve the increasing sustainability trend in the fire extinguishing market.” “By optimizing our offering, we are able to better meet specific requirements, especially in fast-growing industries such as data centers, industrial process plants and road or rail tunnels,” said Susanne Seitz, CEO of the Buildings division at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. “This strategic move will strengthen our position in the global fire protection market and pave the way for further growth.”

Troels H. Petersen, Senior Vice President for Corporate M&A at Danfoss: “Danfoss Fire Safety has developed into a global leader in the sales, development, production and service of certified fixed fire extinguishing systems.” However, this does not correspond to our strategic focus. We are convinced that the business will develop well together with our Fire Safety colleagues under the Siemens umbrella. “Our priority now is to ensure a smooth transition for our employees, customers, suppliers and partners.”

Danfoss Fire Safety has been an independent company of the Danfoss Group since 2019 and currently employs 125 people. It will continue to operate as an independent legal entity with the addition “A Siemens Business”. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval. Completion is expected before the end of the 2024 calendar year. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed.
