Wanted suspect arrested in 2023 Columbus murder case

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – A murder suspect in a 2023 shooting at the Wilson Apartments in Columbus has been arrested.

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit arrested Jadarious Greene on October 8th. He was arrested on the following charges:

Greene has been wanted since 2023 for the murder of 21-year-old Javon Smith.

Columbus Police responded to the 3400 block of 8th Avenue (Wilson Apartments) on September 21, 2023. They found Smith suffering from a gunshot wound.

Smith could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. the following day

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit made the arrest in cooperation with the United States Marshal Services.

Green is scheduled to appear in court at 8 a.m. on Oct. 9 for a preliminary hearing
