SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – The 7th Street exit of Interstate 80 eastbound in San Francisco is closed Tuesday morning due to a personal injury crash, according to law enforcement. San Francisco police are investigating the collision and have closed the ramp.

SFPD advises motorists to avoid the area and expect delays while emergency responders work to clear the scene. According to the California Highway Patrol, a major traffic alert was issued and there were injuries as a result of the crash.

The CHP initially described the incident as a hit-and-run, but later updated its protocol to say it was “highway violence.” CHP logs indicate a vehicle led SFPD on a chase and collided with multiple vehicles.

According to the report, a suspect was arrested.
