Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler was robbed of his watch during the final weekend of the 2024 regular season, his agency confirmed, and the incident is currently under investigation by police.

KABC reported late Monday night that Buehler and his wife, McKenzie, were recently victims of a robbery at the Santa Anita Park racetrack in Arcadia, more than 12 miles east of Dodger Stadium. Details of the robbery have been released, but Excel Sports Management, which represents Buehler, said in a statement that Buehler was “unknowingly” robbed over the weekend of Sept. 28-29.

“After Walker’s final regular season start on September 27, he and a number of other players did not travel to Colorado for the final regular season series. This weekend, Walker and his wife McKenzie attended horse racing at Santa Anita Park. While walking from the paddock to their seats, Walker unknowingly fell victim to the theft of his watch. The incident was reported to police and is currently under investigation. We are grateful that Walker and McKenzie were not injured and Walker is focused on the playoffs,” the statement said.

KABC’s original report said the robbery occurred last weekend during the MLB playoffs before being corrected.

Buehler has a great passion for horse racing and grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. Buehler had formed a partnership with horse trainer Bob Baffert and convinced Buehler to purchase a share in one of his horses, Authentic, who won the 2020 Kentucky Derby.

The Dodgers pitcher is scheduled to pitch in Game 3 of the National League Divisional Series against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. The series is tied 1-1.

Buehler started 12 games this season and had a 1-6 record with a 5.38 ERA.
