Footage of the Range Rover “attempted murder accident” is circulating

Detectives investigating the serious crash between a Range Rover and a pedestrian have asked residents with access to the video clip to send it to them.

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s from Christchurch, remains in hospital with “life-changing” injuries after being flown there. His next of kin are aware of this.

It is believed two people who were in the black Range Rover during the crash on Etches Avenue at the junction of Western Avenue in Bournemouth fled the scene.

Following inquiries, two men – aged 20 and 54 from Bournemouth – were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and traffic offences. They remain in police custody.

The arrested men are known to the victim.

The crash occurred on Monday, October 7, around 10 p.m.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bell of BCP CID said: “We are continuing to carry out extensive inquiries into the circumstances of this incident and would urge anyone with information that could assist our investigation to come forward.”

“We are aware that footage of this incident may be circulating in the community. I would urge any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, as well as anyone who may have captured relevant footage from home CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams, to speak to us.
