Another debate between Trump and Harris? Voters in key Georgia county say “no thanks”

Another debate between Trump and Harris? Voters in key Georgia county say “no thanks”

MARIETTA, Georgia – Americans living in the Atlanta suburbs appear to have little appetite for another prime-time face-off between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“If you don’t know her now, there’s no hope,” a man who declined to give his name told Fox News Digital in Acworth, Georgia, last week.

With Election Day less than a month away, Georgia residents are preparing for early voting to begin in their state next week.

The Peach State is in play in this election after President Biden turned blue for the first time in years in the 2020 campaign and Trump won by less than 1%.

A significant portion of that support came from Cobb County, Georgia, where Biden won by an even larger margin than the statewide.

And like Biden and Trump in 2020, the former president and Harris only had one debate.

Trump has refused to take part in a second duel, while Harris and her allies await another head-to-head duel.

But people in Cobb County who spoke to Fox News Digital didn’t seem excited about the prospect of a second debate.

“I really don’t think so,” said Howard Segan, speaking to Fox News Digital outside a Marietta Whole Foods, when asked if Americans needed another debate. “I don’t think Trump is a very good debater at all. And I think.” [Harris is] an empty suit.

Another man who identified himself as Scott noted that his grandfather was involved in politics and suggested that he himself was disappointed by its pomp from an early age.

“I’ve noticed that most of this is staged anyway, so I’m not interested in the debates at all,” Scott said.

A woman named Deb, who opposes Harris, said: “She doesn’t say anything, it’s word salad. So what is there to discuss? She can’t even answer questions.”

Meanwhile, a man named Toli from Marietta said he would “honestly” like to see another debate but saw little value in it.

“At this point it doesn’t matter because people will have their own views no matter what they do,” Toli said. “Maybe 20 years ago we had debates where people were watching, glued to the screen, trying to figure out what their opinion was. But now it’s so polarized. Through social media and everything else, people find out what they think about the candidate…every day.”

Sandy, one of the few people who spoke to Fox News Digital who wanted a second debate, indicated she wasn’t excited about any of the potential participants.

“I just think a lot of people have questions,” Sandy explained.

“I mean, [Harris has] She’s only touched the surface, and if she wants the votes, she has to communicate what she’s going to do, what she’s actually going to do. And I mean, even with Trump, he doesn’t spread any information other than hate.”

A recent Fox News poll late last month showed Harris with a narrow three-point lead over Trump in Georgia.

Residents of the Peach State go to the polls for early voting from October 15th to November 1st.
