Oktagon 62: MMA spectacle LIVE on RTL+

Who will be “King of GerMMAny”? On October 12th, the ultimate martial arts spectacle between German superstars Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth will decide who is the king in the cage.

Around 60,000 spectators are expected on site at the superlative fight night in Frankfurt – the largest mixed martial arts event in Europe. RTL+ has secured the rights to OKTAGON 62 and will be there live from 4:30 p.m.*. In addition to the main fight, MMA fans can look forward to a total of eleven fights as well as a breathtaking halftime show.

Oktagon 62: Eckerlin vs. Jungwirth live on RTL+

The focus of the fight night is the eagerly awaited duel between the “King of Frankfurt” Christian Eckerlin (fight record: 16-6) and Stuttgart’s Christian “The Kelt” Jungwirth (fight record 15-8)*. Eckerlin, one of the biggest stars on the international MMA scene, is the welterweight and middleweight champion of several German organizations. With Christian Jungwirth he meets a real crowd favorite with a big fighting heart in the octagon.

After spectacular victories at “OKTAGON MMA”, Kerim Engizek from Düsseldorf (fight record: 20-4) also gets the chance of his life: He fights for the middleweight title against the current champion Patrik Kincl (fight record: 28-10).

Mixed Martial Arts is one of the most exciting and fastest growing sports in the world, combining various fighting styles such as kickboxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and boxing. Fighting takes place according to a strict set of rules. The fights are decided either by “knocking out” (submission) or KO or TKO. If the fight goes beyond the scheduled distance (normal fights: 3 rounds of 5 minutes each / title fights 5 rounds of 5 minutes each) the decision will be made by the three judges.
