Suspect arrested, accused of murdering two people at apartment complex

SAN ANTONIO – A suspect has been arrested after allegedly murdering two people at his apartment complex within a week.

On Oct. 8, police announced that 35-year-old Daniel Gonzalez was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting of a man at his apartment complex.

Officers responded to the scene of the shooting at the Victoria Plaza Apartments on the corner of Barrera and Catherine streets, south of downtown, around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.

When police entered the complex, they found a deceased man in his 60s with a gunshot wound. Police confiscated a bullet casing as evidence.

Police identified a suspect in the case and when he was to be questioned in the case, he was found with a pistol.

The suspect, a convicted felon, was arrested for possession of a firearm. Authorities were able to determine that the same handgun the suspect was found with was also used in the fatal shooting.

Surveillance video also showed the suspect being in the apartment complex at the time of the murder.

The suspect was charged with murder Monday while in custody at the Bexar County Jail.

Investigators believe the suspect is connected to a murder that occurred three days earlier at the same apartment complex, where a man in his 50s was found dead in his apartment and foul play is suspected.

Both cases are still under investigation.
