Temple police investigate fatal shooting

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead Wednesday evening.

On Oct. 9 around 7:20 p.m., police said officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Luna Lane on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, police said they found a person with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said they spoke with the homeowner who claimed the victim went into his yard and shot the victim multiple times.

According to police, the victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

The Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences ordered an autopsy.

Police said no other injuries were reported and there was no danger to the public.
