Fans are eagerly awaiting Shawn Mendes’ new album. The musician has now announced that the release has been postponed.

Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes, 26, announced the good news last July that he would be releasing a new album. He announced the work in the summer for October 18th. But his fans have to be patient longer, the singer has postponed the release of “Shawn”.

“Hey guys, my team and I have decided to postpone the album release date to November 15th,” Mendes wrote on X and in an Instagram Story. “We just need a little more time to bring some new inspiration and ideas to life,” he remained vague about the reason for the postponement. He further added, “I love you guys, thank you for being so patient, I can’t wait to see you at the next shows.”

Tour cancellation and new music

Mendes had to cancel his entire world tour in July 2022 due to mental health problems and took a break for himself. After the tour was canceled, the 26-year-old reported back to his fans on Instagram at the beginning of March 2024 with good news and revealed that he was working on a new album. Mendes released his last album “Wonder” in 2020.

Announcing his new record, the Canadian musician stated: “Music can really be medicine.” […] Being here now, with twelve beautiful finished songs, feels like a gift.” He thanks God for his friends and family. “Life can be brutal, but when you have a small group of people who you trust deeply and who support you through it, it becomes so much better.

His fans can at least see him live on stage until his album is released. He will perform a concert in Nashville on October 14th. There will also be appearances in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle and Morrison in October. The singer will come to the Tempodrom in Berlin on November 13th. Then we continue to Mexico and Canada. Appearances in India, Argentina and Chile have already been announced for 2025.
