Be careful, charger for Apple Watch can trigger trademark

Belkin is recalling fast wireless chargers for the Apple Watch. Affected users should take the device out of operation immediately.

Computer hardware manufacturer Belkin has issued a recall of all Belkin BoostCharge Pro wireless fast chargers for Apple Watch with 10K power bank, BPD005. The lithium cell component of the portable wireless battery charger may present overheating and a fire risk under certain circumstances, Belkin said, and strongly recommends against further use.

No injuries have been reported so far. All buyers were offered a full refund of the purchase price.

The manufacturer writes: “If you purchased the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Wireless Fast Charger for Apple Watch with 10K Power Bank, BPD005, immediately decommission it, disconnect it from all power sources or other products, and contact Belkin for further instructions .” to receive instructions.

The most important thing is to store the power bank safely and dryly, far away from flammable materials or other things that could damage the power bank. Under no circumstances should the device be thrown into the trash or recycling bin, the Belkin recall states.
