Message to fans: Shawn Mendes’ album release postponed

Fans are eagerly awaiting Shawn Mendes’ new album. The artist now asks you to be patient as the album release will not take place as planned.

Last July, Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes (26) announced the great news that his next album would be out soon. The work was scheduled to be published on October 18th. However, his followers will have to wait a bit longer as the singer has pushed back the release of ‘Shawn’.

“Hey guys, my team and I have decided to postpone the album release date to November 15th,” Mendes announced on X and in an Instagram Story. “We just need a little more time to bring some new inspiration and ideas to life,” he gave a vague hint of the reason for the postponement. Likewise, he added, “I love you guys, thank you for being so patient, I can’t wait to see you at the next shows.”

New music and tour cancellation

Mendes had to cancel his entire world tour in July 2022 due to mental health problems and took a break for himself. After the tour was canceled, the 26-year-old contacted his fans on Instagram at the beginning of March 2024 with good news and revealed that he had another album in the works. Mendes released his last album “Wonder” in 2020.

While announcing his new record, the Canadian singer stated, “Music can truly be medicine.” […] Being here now, with twelve beautiful finished songs, feels like a gift.” He thanks God for his friends and family. “Life can be brutal, but when you have a small group of people who you trust deeply and who support you through it, it becomes so much better.

Until his album is released, his fans have the opportunity to see him live on stage. He will perform a concert in Nashville on October 14th. Further concerts will follow in October in cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle and Morrison. On November 13th the singer will come to Berlin at the Tempodrom. He then travels to Mexico and Canada. Concerts in countries such as India, Argentina and Chile have already been announced for 2025.
