On Wednesday, police announced charges against three juveniles in connection with a shooting and crash at the major intersection in Rockford.

According to investigators, a teenager sat in the back seat of a white Hyundai with the three suspects and tried to sell them e-cigarette cartridges. According to a police report, the would-be seller was pushed out of the vehicle and his ankle was run over.

Another vehicle containing two people followed the Hyundai, which investigators said was stolen. According to police, an exchange of gunfire occurred between suspects in both vehicles, resulting in a crash between the stolen car and an unrelated vehicle. Police said the other vehicle involved in the shooting escaped.

Officers eventually arrested the three teens and reportedly found two loaded guns in the stolen Hyundai.

Rockford police say with the help of Loves Park police they were able to locate the other vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting in the 6000 block of Park Ridge Drive in Loves Park.

Police noticed several people leaving the home on Park Ridge Drive. During the investigation, investigators said they seized more than two grams of cocaine and cash from Woods and found cash, a money counting machine and drug paraphernalia in the home.

Another search warrant was executed in the 6700 block of Academy Trail, where court records show Bueno lives and where the armed robbery occurred. Investigators report finding a loaded gun at that location.

Woods is scheduled to appear in court on November 13th. Bueno’s trial is scheduled for November 25.
