Nominated for 1 European Film Prize A group of men in their prime and each of them in the middle of a serious life crisis: What could be more natural than briefly founding the first male synchronized swimming team at their local bathing establishment? With swimming trunks and swimming caps, they want to take on their own mid-life crisis and the international competition in water ballet. Despite the skepticism and ridicule of their fellow human beings, and drilled by two trainers who also went a little astray, the water sports-loving “beautiful swimmers” embark on an unlikely adventure, at the end of which they have to surpass themselves. In his new comedy, the well-known director and actor Gilles Lellouche (“Life is a Celebration”, “Little True Lies”) brings together a colorful mix of prominent French faces, such as Mathieu Amalric (“Grand Budapest Hotel”), Guillaume Canet (“Grand Budapest Hotel”), “Together you are less alone”), the award-winning Benoit Poelvoorde (“The Brand New Testament”), Jean-Hugues Anglade (“Restless”), Virginie Efira (“Victoria – Men & Other Misadventures”) and Leïla Bekhti (“Paris , je t’aime”). A Pool Full of Men is a co-production of Chi-Fou-Mi Productions and Les Films du Trésor, distributed worldwide by Studiocanal and celebrated its world premiere at the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival.
