Known issues due to KB5044384

Corrections and improvements through KB5044384

  • Will be rolled out gradually
  • Start menu New! You can access your mobile device’s content directly from your PC’s Start menu. This feature allows you to view your device’s battery status and connectivity, access your voice messages, calls and photos, and pick up where you left off with recent activity on your device. This feature is only available to Android users who are already connected via Phone Link. iOS support will come later. To manage this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Home.
  • Notifications New! You can now stop suggestions to turn off notifications from certain apps. Select the ellipses (…) in the notification and turn it off. You can also go to Settings > System > Notifications and turn them off from there. Look for “Notification Suggestions” in the senders list. An entry only appears in the list once you have received a notification.
  • Windows sandbox New! This update adds the Windows Sandbox Client Preview. This preview includes clipboard redirection at runtime, control of audio and video input, and sharing of folders with the host at runtime. To access these features, select the ellipses (…) at the top right of the application. This preview also includes a version of command line support. (Commands may change over time). To learn more, use the exe -help command. You can find new updates for this application in the Microsoft Store.
  • Virtual hard drive (VHD/VHDx) New! This update adds a virtual disk detach button to Settings. In the properties of your VHD or VHDx, go to Settings > System > Storage > Disks & Volumes.
  • Wi-Fi password dialog New! The dialog now has the Windows 11 visual design. Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
  • More normal rollout
  • Copilot button settings New! You can configure the Copilot key on the keyboard. On new devices, the button opens the Copilot app. When you sign in to your account with a Microsoft Entra ID, the button opens the M365 app. You can use the button to open another app or to open search. To do this, go to Settings > Personalization > Text input. In order for the key to open another application, the application must be in a signed MSIX package. This ensures that the app meets security and privacy standards to keep you safe. If your PC keyboard does not have a Copilot key, changing this setting will do nothing.
  • User interface (UI) Fix: Some parts of the interface cannot be displayed when running certain applications.
  • HTML applications (HTA) Correction: Optional HTA components (OC) are now in ARM64 Windows PE.
  • Live kernel debug files (dumps) Fixed: win32kbase.sys was creating live kernel debug files when it shouldn’t be.
  • Winlogon Fixed: Stop error occurs during shutdown.
  • Windows kernel blocklist file for vulnerable drivers (DriverSiPolicy.p7b) Fixed: This update expands the list of drivers vulnerable to Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) attacks.
  • Web registration Correction: You cannot log in to your account via the web because the screen stops responding.
  • sfc /scannow Fixed: Errors occur every time while executing the command.
  • blogs.windows
