WhatsApp is once again introducing a new button. If you look at the status of one of your contacts, you will now see a colorless heart at the bottom right. What does that mean?

You can like a status on a WhatsApp blog post using the button. Then the heart turns green. Unlike Facebook, these likes are not publicly visible and are not counted. Only the contact whose status was liked will be informed by the messenger.

Like statuses and tag people

This is not the only innovation that WhatsApp is introducing in connection with status messages. In the future, you can also mention a contact in the status. This mention is also not publicly visible, only the respective contact is informed about it and can then optionally share your status message with their contacts.

If the new functions are not yet available to you, you will have to be patient. WhatsApp will therefore be introduced gradually and will gradually be available to more and more accounts.

You can also send the green heart as an emoji in the chat. There it has a completely different meaning than, for example, the red heart.
