ARD podcast “Baborie & Rakers”

ARD podcast “Baborie & Rakers”

from October 11, 2024 in the ARD Audiothek

They spoke to each other every week for a month on the SWR3 podcast “1 plus 1 – Temporary Friendship”. They got along so well that they are now starting a podcast. In the ARD podcast “Baborie & Rakers” Ariana Baborie and Judith Rakers talk across the alphabet and back again. They talk about fixed terms with given initials and thus touch on numerous topics from a wide variety of areas of life. Combined with entertaining facts, the two share their thoughts on armpit hair, breathwork, etc. From October 11th, the podcast will be available exclusively in the ARD audio library Listen, there is a new episode every Friday.

Ass antlers and mindfulness

A topic in the first episode under the heading A for ass antlers is tattooing. When asked why Judith Rakers doesn’t have a tattoo, she says: “[…] I never dared. Not because I was afraid of the pain – you can endure it with or without a crémant – but because I’m afraid of this final decision. I have a lot of trouble committing, especially when it comes to decisions that are permanent. Professionally, I’ve always been a freelancer because I always need to feel like I can stand up. On the plane I always have to sit in the aisle.” On the topic of A for Mindfulness, Ariana Baborie says: “I sometimes find myself not being able to stand the silence. I just discovered this myself this week. Every moment I’m doing something – unloading the dishwasher, cooking, getting ready in the morning, folding laundry – I’m doing something to myself. It’s like a compulsion: always a podcast, always music.”
