Police investigate fatal shooting in the Bronx

Suffolk County, NY — Jeremy Allen, 43, of East Quogue, has been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses for allegedly torturing and killing his former friend Christopher Hahn, 43. The charges were announced Thursday by Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on September 27, 2024, after Allen and Hahn, who had known each other since high school, spent the evening at a bar and later went to Allen’s residence on Oakville Avenue. Surveillance footage allegedly captured Allen brutally beating Hahn for 18 minutes shortly after midnight, followed by footage showing Hahn being dragged to the back deck, where he was left semi-conscious.

Allen later allegedly hit Hahn several times with a baseball bat before placing a plastic bag over Hahn’s head and watching him struggle to breathe for about eight minutes. Surveillance video also allegedly showed Allen stabbing Hahn in the neck 10 times with a knife, ultimately leading to his death after six hours of alleged torture.

The next morning, Allen allegedly contacted a repairman to clean the house. When the repairman discovered the crime scene, he persuaded Allen to let him go and then alerted the police. Authorities arrested Allen at his apartment.

Allen was arraigned Oct. 10 before Superior Court Judge Timothy P. Mazzei on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 14. If convicted on the main charge, he could face life in prison.
