In addition to the base game, the upcoming release will also include Red Dead Redemption’s standalone zombie expansion – Undead Nightmare – making its PC debut.

Those interested can pre-order via Steam, the Epic Games Store and Rockstar’s own website.

“When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is forced to hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends,” says Rockstar’s official Red Dead Redemption. “Experience Marston’s journey across the vast expanses of the American West and Mexico as he fights to bury his bloodstained past in the critically acclaimed predecessor to the 2018 blockbuster, Red Dead Redemption 2.”

The upcoming release was created in collaboration with Double Eleven and will add a number of PC-specific improvements to the game. This includes native 4K resolution at up to 144 Hz on compatible hardware.

If you haven’t played the game yourself, Simon Parkin said: “The result is an exceptional rockstar game that successfully wraps the Grand Theft Auto framework into an exciting, unique and expertly executed scenario,” in Eurogamer’s original Red Dead Redemption review from 2010.

As for the expansion: “That’s honestly the way DLC should be done,” said Dan Whitehead.

“Undead Nightmare offers a generous amount of polished, AAA-quality new material, finally giving fans of the single-player game a compelling reason to shake off their stripes and return to the ranch,” he wrote in Eurogamer’s Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare review from the same year.
