MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — One person was critically injured after an overnight shooting at a home in South Memphis, police said.

At about 1:40 a.m., officers said they responded to the 1100 block of Wellington Street for a shooting and aggravated assault involving a firearm discharged.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim lying in the doorway of the home with gunshot wounds. The victim stated that a white truck stopped in front of the house and shots were fired.

The victim was subsequently transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Two other victims were also in the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured, police said.

The security door was broken due to defects resulting from bullet impacts on the outside of the house and inside the wall. Police also said they found shell casings, live cartridges on the street and bullet fragments outside the residence on the porch and door frame.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
