On Saturday, the Rügen Bridge belongs to running enthusiasts again. The Rügenbrücken Marathon is one of the largest sporting events in the Western Pomerania-Rügen region.

More than 5,100 participants have registered for the various distances at the 16th Rügenbrücken Marathon. This means that the pre-Corona level has been reached again. According to the organizing team, the runners come from all federal states and even from America.

There are various running and walking routes between Stralsund and the island of Rügen. The marathon and half marathon are run: ten, six and, for children, three kilometers.
