New action-packed trailer for the Sky series

A new trailer for the action series “The Day of the Jackal” has been released. Eddie Redmayne meets Lashana Lynch. The series can also be seen in Germany from November.

On Thursday, November 7th, 2024, the new in-house production The Day of the Jackal started on Peacock and WOW with the British Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Discovery of Infinity”, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) in his first big series role. Sky Deutschland and Peacock have now released a new trailer (in German and English versions), as it will also start there from November 7th in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Great Britain.

The preview presents the starting point of the series in detail for all viewers. There is the hunter and the adaptable hunted. Which of the two can prevail and achieve their goal and how many corpses pave their path?

This is what “The Day of the Jackal” is about

The Jackal (Eddie Redmayne) is an extremely elusive killer. The loner earns his living by carrying out deadly orders in exchange for huge sums of money. But after his last murder, he meets an equal opponent: a stubborn British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch, “No Time to Die”, “Captain Marvel”). She tracks down the jackal and pursues him in a breathless cat-and-mouse hunt across Europe, leaving a trail of destruction behind.

Alongside Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch (“The Woman King”, “Bob Marley: One Love”), Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist) plays the role of Nuria, who is at the center of the Jackal’s private life and doesn’t know who uh is really. The other cast includes Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, “The King’s Man”) in the role of Timothy Winthrop, Richard Dormer (“Blue Lights”, “Game of Thrones”) and Norman, Chukwudi Iwuji (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol .3”, The Split) as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams (“The Capture”, The Crown) as Isabel Kirby, Khalid Abdalla (“The Crown”, “The Kite Runner”) as Ulle Dag Charles, Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead, “I Used To Be Famous”) as Zina Jansone, Jonjo O’Neill (“Andor”, Bad Sisters) as Edward Carver, Nick Blood (Slow Horses) as Vince, Sule Rimi (“Classified”, Andor) as Paul Pullman and Florisa Kamara (“Eastenders”) as Jasmin Pullman.

The creators behind the scenes of “Day of the Jackal”

Director Brian Kirk was also borrowed from the fantasy success “GoT”, who took over the production of part of the ten-part opening season. Meanwhile, Ronan Bennett (known for the series Top Boy) serves as head writer and executive producer.

Of course, the whole thing goes back to the novel “The Jackal” published by Frederick Forsyth in 1971, which was first made into a film in 1973 with Edward Fox. Many people will also remember the 1997 film adaptation with Bruce Willis and Richard Gere. Willis played the murderer while Gere wanted to arrest him.
