Future path AHS: Three new image videos make you want to go to high school

There are more than 50 high schools in Styria – almost 30,000 young Styrians are currently pursuing an education in a general secondary school, i.e. a high school. In order to illustrate and illustrate the future prospects of this school branch, three videos were made that are aimed at students and their parents.

STYRIA. “Don’t just start thinking about how you want your life after school, but start today. Your life is not a coincidence,” is the urgent appeal Ali Mahlodji. The well-known one Youth Ambassador of the European UnionExpert for knowledge societies, generational and futurologist, coach and keynote speaker is testimonial for an image campaign by Styrian high schools, which is intended to show the future path of high schools.

The films, which were recently presented at the Lichtenfelsgmynasium in Graz, are aimed at students and their parents in order to convince them at the crossroads – before leaving elementary school or at the age of 14 – of the diverse educational offerings of the Styrian secondary school. In addition to Mahlodji, he also provides important impulses Graz organizational developer Peter Webhoferwho deals intensively with educational issues and organization. “Our Styrian high schools are successful and should remain so. We are constantly developing educational content and delivery methods in order to be up to date as educational institutions. This is the only way we can live up to the claim that the path to the future continues to go through high school,” thanks to the director of the B(R)G Leibnitz and spokesman for the Styrian AHS directors Josef Wieser Project implemented.

Four 21st Century Skills

The focus of the campaign, but also of the daily work in the Styrian region, is the teaching of the “four skills of the 21st century”: Collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and communication. These keys not only promote professional flexibility, but also personal development and the ability to continuously learn.

“I really enjoyed working on the films because, together with students, we were able to work on the topics that are now being addressed in the spots. The thematic breadth arose because we involved schools from urban and rural areas in the preparation and implementation.”
Filmmaker Astrid Rampula

An educational path with a lot of history

The first Styrian high school was put into operation more than 450 years ago, on November 12, 1573. It was today’s academic high school in the heart of Graz’s old town.

A few days ago – and after an interruption of 30 years – a new general secondary school in Graz was opened for the first time. Die AHS Reininghaus in the west of Graz offers space for 36 classes and around 900 students as well as the corresponding teaching staff.
